After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005, Francis attended University of Maine School of Law in Portland. During law school, Francis gained experience working as a student attorney for the Kennebec County District Attorney's Office.

Francis graduated from law school in 2008 and began his practice with Jabar, Batten & Ringer. Francis is a member of the Waterville Bar Association, Maine State Bar Association and the American Bar Association and has been defending indigent defendants in the Somerset County Private Defender Project. Francis’ practice includes the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, criminal law, and family law.
