Of Counsel:

John Jabar

Jason M. Jabar

After graduating from Colby College, Jason attended University of Maine School of Law in Portland where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Jason gained experience representing large corporations such as Bath Iron Works at the firm of Monaghan Leahy in Portland. He also completed an internship for the Kennebec County District Attorney's office. After law school, Jason worked for a large insurance company at Unum Provident in Portland for their Appellate Division. Jason left Unum for private practice and he has been representing Maine people ever since.

After joining private practice, Jason trained under his father, former attorney and current Maine Supreme Court Justice Joseph Jabar and former law partner and current Maine Superior Court Justice Michaela Murphy. Jason completed the Maine Trial Lawyers Association College of Trial Advocacy and he is a member of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, Maine State Bar Association, and American Association for Justice. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Jason has experience handling hundreds of cases, including 2 criminal homicide cases, and he was involved in one of the largest civil cases in Maine history. He has fought in over one hundred contested trials, including several jury trials. In November, 2007, Jason recovered $148,000 for his injured client by obtaining a jury verdict after a 4-day trial. In that case, the opposing insurance company, State Farm, offered Jason's client nothing to settle. During the first 2 months of 2010, Jason has recovered verdicts of $406,000 and $175,000 for his clients – both in cases where the opposing party offered nothing to settle. Jason is experienced in both state and federal courts. His practice includes all types of personal litigation, including personal injury, civil litigation, criminal defense, employment discrimination, and family law.
