J. William Batten is a graduate of Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan, and he received his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. He was admitted to the bar in 1973 and practices law in all State Courts, Federal District Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Batten has served as an Assistant District Attorney for Kennebec and Somerset Counties from 1975 - 1983. He has been a member of the firm since 1975. Mr. Batten has a general law practice. He has extensive experience in bankruptcy cases representing debtors and creditors, personal injury cases, corporate law, social security disability cases and civil cases (including complex litigation involving municipalities, paper companies and other large businesses). He is a member of the Waterville Bar Association, Kennebec Bar Association, Maine State Bar Association and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Batten resides in Waterville with his wife, Marjorie and their daughter Katherine. He has a son, John who lives and works in Limestone, Maine. |
